The Bikers for Kids Newcastle Toy Run is an extraordinary festive season favourite that has been running for over 40 years and is proudly supported by The City of Newcastle. From 10am to 1:30pm this Sunday, Wickham Park will come alive with Christmas cheer - bikes, music, amusements, children's activities, food trucks, markets, competitions, prizes, motorcycle displays and so much more. Inspired by the number of incredible costumes last year and our community’s commitment to help one another, 2018 will be themed as the ‘Superheroes Edition’.
We are pleased to announce 2NURFM have come on board as our official Media Partner, with drive host Kev Kellaway stepping up to MC the big day.
“I’ve ridden in the Toy Run for several years now and there’s a wonderful feeling of good will and charity all throughout the ride. It’s a pleasure to assist the Bikers for Kids and Salvation Army, who help so many families throughout the Hunter especially at Christmas time,” said Mr Kellaway.
Some of the day’s highlights will include:
An amazing spectacle for all to enjoy with the arrival of up to 10,000 bikes, riders and pillions decorated in Christmas and Superheroes costumes at Wickham Park from 10:15am

The true heart of the event is the massive donation point for new and unwrapped toys for the Salvation Army Christmas appeal. Last year, The Toy Run benefited over 4,000 local families. The Salvation Army mascot “Shieldy” will be roving the park and greeting guests. Givers are urged to remember older children aged up to 18, with suggested present ideas listed on our website. Salvation Army Newcastle Corps Officer, Major Christine Martin said the Salvos and the wider Hunter community are blessed to be the beneficiaries of the Bikers For Kids Toy Run.
"The Bikers For Kids Toy Run helps us meet the need at Christmas and together, we can ensure little ones wake to treasures under the tree and food on the table," said Major Martin.
